Edwin Ching is a partner in the Guam office of Calvo & Clark. One of Guam's leading lawyers for over 35 years, Mr. Ching offers extensive experience in the areas of real estate and commercial transactions. He has served as lead lawyer on numerous major transactions in Guam, Saipan, and Hawaii, including multi-million dollar real estate deals, loans, shopping center leases, condominium projects, and construction contracts.
Originally from Hawaii, Mr. Ching was formerly house counsel for Kaiser Aetna, the developer of one of the largest communities in Oahu, known as Hawaii Kai. He also represented the A.B. Won Pat International Authority of Guam for the issuance of the $300 million bond which was used for the construction and development of the present airport on Guam.
Mr. Ching’s current clients include the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority of Guam, CoreTech International Corporation, Guam Capital Investment Corporation, and International Distributors Incorporated.
Mr. Ching is admitted to practice in Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. He was formerly Chairman of the Guam District Court Standing Committee (2000-2003) and Chairman of the Territorial Land Use Commission (2005-2006).
Mr. Ching received his J.D. from Drake University Law School and his B.B.A. from the University of Hawaii. After law school he was law clerk to Justice Kazuhisa Abe of the Hawaii Supreme Court.
As an active community member, Mr. Ching has served as Guam’s national swim team coach for the last five Olympic Games. He holds two U.S. patents – one for the inner mechanism of a sliding fishing lure, and another for a flat drill bit.
