James Hofman
Mr. Hofman is an associate in the firm’s Guam office. His practice focuses on civil litigation and he has particular experience with employment matters.
Mr. Hofman received a combined J.D./Masters in East Asian Studies from Washington University in 2005 and his B.A. in English Literature from Taylor University. While in law school, he received a Dagen-Legomsky fellowship, which allowed him to study Japanese law at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo. He also served as an administrative intern to Takashi Shinohara, Member of the Lower House of Councilors in the Japanese Diet.
Additionally, before entering graduate school, Mr. Hofman lived and worked in Japan for nearly five years, both as an English instructor as well as a consultant to companies such as Mazda Motors. He is proficient in both spoken and written Japanese.
Mr. Hofman is admitted to practice law in Guam, California, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
